TomeHaven privacy policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

TomeHaven is a PDF and EPUB reader and library for Android, made by KodaWorks. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

The short version: TomeHaven doesn't collect your information. There's no account, no ads and no tracking. Your books and everything you do with them stay on your phone. The only copy that ever leaves your phone is one you make yourself, or Android's own backup, which you control (see below).

What stays on your phone

TomeHaven stores these things only on your phone, inside the app:

TomeHaven never changes your book files and never uploads them. The developer can't see any of this.

Home-screen widgets

Home-screen widgets come with TomeHaven Pro. Reading Room replaces Continue reading and shows your books lying open on a table, with titles, saved reading places, small PDF page pictures and previews of the first two binder cards, including the first words of notes. You can choose recently read books or open tabs separately for each widget. Book shortcut shows a single book or binder you choose and opens its saved reading place. My bookcase shows a picture of the whole bookcase you choose, including its books, binders and shelf decorations. These appear on your Android home screen where other people using your phone may see them.

TomeHaven keeps widget choices, small cover thumbnails, page and binder-card previews, bookcase pictures, links to the books and collections shown in them, per-widget order, appearance and scrolling preferences, bookcase-picture retry status, and the last known Pro status locally so widgets can appear while the app is closed or offline. Widget copies are excluded from Android's backups and are rebuilt by the app. Restoring a different library requires choosing a bookcase or shortcut book again. Widgets don't upload anything or need internet access.

What TomeHaven doesn't do

Permissions

Android's backup (Google)

Like most Android apps, TomeHaven lets Android's own backup include it. If backup is turned on in your phone's settings, Google may save a copy of TomeHaven's library information to your Google account:

This backup is handled by Google, under your Google account and Google's Privacy Policy. The developer can't see or reach it. You can turn it off in your phone's settings (usually Settings → Google → Backup).

Your own backups

TomeHaven's Backup button makes one file of your library, saved wherever you choose. What happens to that file after that is up to you.

Links in books

If you tap a web link inside a book, TomeHaven asks first and then opens it in your web browser. That website has its own privacy policy.

Getting the app, and TomeHaven Pro

TomeHaven is downloaded from Google Play. Google may collect information about the download and installation, under Google's own privacy policy.

TomeHaven Pro is an optional subscription bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment and your payment details; the developer never sees them. To know whether you have Pro, TomeHaven asks the Google Play app on your phone, which answers from your Google account's purchases. Google Play gives the developer its usual order records for each purchase, as for every app sold on Google Play, under Google's own privacy policy. Nothing about your library or reading is ever part of a purchase.

Deleting your information

Everything TomeHaven stores is on your phone. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, deletes it. Your book files in your own folders are never touched. To delete a Google backup, use your Google account settings.

Children

TomeHaven isn't aimed at children, and it collects nothing from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If TomeHaven ever starts handling information differently, for example through optional online features in the future, this policy will be updated before that happens, with a new date at the top.
